Small Children

Traveling with small kids can test the will of even the hardiest travelers. Being a kid at heart, Ted tries hard to make your family travel as painless and fun as possible.

Kids under 24 months always fly free on Ted as long as they're accompanied by an adult 15 or older and sit on that adult's lap during the flight. If you're traveling with more than one infant, though, you will have to buy adjacent seats for all but the one sitting on your lap (and you deserve a medal, by the way).

For any infants flying in their own seat, you will need to bring an approved infant car seat to make sure they are safely secured throughout the flight. The seat must conform to all applicable U.S. motor vehicle safety standards and, if manufactured after 1985, should be certified for aircraft use. For the child's safety, please be aware that belly belts, booster seats and vests or harnesses that hold the infant to your chest can't be used on the aircraft. The car seat will not count against your carry-on limits.

Unaccompanied Children

Unaccompanied children are always welcome on Ted, and Ted is more than happy to provide the special attention they need to make their trip easy, safe and fun. Since United has been safely flying unattended children for a long time, Ted has decided to take advantage of that expertise. Visit united.com for more information on age requirements and other key details.

Pets

Ted knows pets deserve a vacation every now and then too. The next time Fido or Fluffy gets itchy with wanderlust, Ted's prepared to fly them in comfort and style. Your dog or cat can travel with Ted in three different ways: as your guest in the cabin; as checked "baggage" on your flight; or as unaccompanied cargo, if your pet's flying solo. Ted just needs to know in advance to make the proper arrangements. Please call us at 1-800-CALL-TED (1-800-225-5833) to discuss your travel situation.

For pets with more than four legs, or anything more exotic than a cat or dog, please call Ted at 1-800-CALL-TED (1-800-225-5833) to discuss your travel possibilities.

Ted understands that your comfort depends on your pet's comfort (sadly, the reverse is usually not true). United has been doing this for a long time and knows all the ins and outs of safe pet travel. If you want more information on what both you and Ted can do to make your pet's travel experience more comfortable, check out united.com or call us at 1-800-CALL-TED (1-800-225-5833).
